Bible Study # 15 True Holiness: Part Six
Tanning Beds

A. First, in order to understand the sin of tanning or changing ones body tone or color we must understand what the scriptures teach concerning beauty. There is natural beauty and there is vain beauty. Natural beauty is the natural appearance of a man or woman and vain beauty, is beauty made artificially by unnatural means, something false.

B. Question: What does the scriptures teach concerning natural and vain beauty?

D. Question: What does the scriptures say about changing the natural appearance?

E. Now let us study vain beauty.
1. Pro. 31:10-31 … beauty is vain, but the woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. The writer is making a reference to the changing of appearance to beautify as being vain, because we have just studied that there is a natural beauty that is not vain as in holiness and gray hair.

1. 2nd Kings 9:29-37 … and she painted her face.
